Dear Mom,
Well, I went on sick call again this morning for the second
time in my army career. And here I am in the hospital
again. Nasophangitis¹ or something like that is the
diagnosis. A head cold I would call it. I had a pleasant
four day rest back in the States. I can use another
one now. All the boys that I have been with since
Gulfport have gone to different stations. So when
I get out of the hospital I’ll be amongst strangers
again. I heard that a big batch of mail came in
today. I hope some of it is for our squadron. If it is
we’re pretty lucky, for some of the boys are over two
or three months before they get mail. Yesterday
was the first day of spring according to the calendar,
but spring has been in the air for several days.
I noticed in the paper that a cold spell had swept
down and touched Texas last week. Did you all
feel it. Might as well stop this chatter. Write.
