Dear Mom,
Went to town yesterday to a
picture show. Got in about
eleven to find one piece of mail —
that cablegram. It scared me,
but I pulled my jacket off and
got a drink before I opened it.
Then after I opened it, I was
glad to get it as I hadn’t
gotten any mail in a couple of
days. The latest was a card
and note from Bert post-marked
the 2nd. The cable was marked
Corsicana. What were you
doing down there?
Did I thank you and
Melvin for the pictures?
I’ll be mighty glad if you
can send some pictures
every once in a while.
I haven’t done much writing
in the last few days because
I had absolutely nothing to say.
About the only way that I can write
is to answer a letter that I
have received. Just thought
I would drop a few lines,
[ 2 drawn horizontal lines ]
so there they are.
Love,
Lawrence
