Dear Mom,

Yes, it did used to seem like we
could talk to each other easy. I’m
glad we can still do it. Was very
happy to hear that your operation
was not as serious as you first thought.
Hope you are much better by now.

Our team just lost three volley-
ball games. We were playing for the best
two out of three. They played us the third
one for practice after they beat us the first two.
And I’ll be getting up at 4:30 tomorrow
morning for K.P.

I’ll write a long letter Saturday
evening telling all about where I am
and a little about what I’m doing.
Feels good to lick my own envelope
again.
